Stefany Vidals Hernandez of Goshen Central High School Wins A Day in the Life of a School Bus Art Competition

Leonard Bus Sales is proud to announce that Stefany Vidals Hernandez, a senior at Goshen Central High School, is the 2025 winner of the Leonard Bus Sales “A Day in the Life of a School Bus” Art Competition for her original digital art creation titled “A Ride in the Morning.”

In addition to a $1,000 one-time scholarship paid directly to the educational institution that Stefany will attend, her original creation will be framed and put on display at the Goshen Central School District Transportation Department. Stefany’s digital art will also be made into professional prints and shared with school districts and school bus enthusiasts across the state. According to Stefany, her submission depicts a time where tiredness is in the air as the sunrise shines through the bus windows and students prepare for another day of learning.

“The Leonard Bus Sales family believes there are many aspects to a successful education and the arts play a critical role in the development of well-rounded adults who are capable of thriving in an ever-evolving world where the keys to success include the ability to express ideas in ways that span cultures and diverse backgrounds,” said Jon Leonard, President of Leonard Bus Sales. “A Day in the Life of a School Bus Art Competition encourages students to think about their shared experience – the promise that the new day holds – in a space that is safe, familiar, and shields them from the outside world.”

Leonard Bus Sales launched its annual art competition to inspire and recognize young artists in high schools across New York State.  A Day in the Life of a School Bus Art Competition requires participating juniors and seniors to artistically depict a day in the life of a school bus and select either an IC BusTM, Trans Tech, or GreenPower Motor Company brand school bus as the subject – the three brands that are sold and supported by Leonard Bus Sales.

Leonard concluded, “The yellow school bus is synonymous with the educational and social development of our youth, and we are proud to ensure their daily safe travel to and from school and in supporting their dreams for the next stage of their lives through our Leonard Bus Sales’ scholarship programs.”
